Meet Our Team

The Chapter Leads

Hannah CHung

Hannah is currently a junior at West Ranch High School. She is a member of the student council and plays volleyball for West Ranch. As a proud Korean-American, she is passionate about giving back to the Asian community. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing UNO, and fueling her unhealthy love for British cooking shows. She bakes cookies at least once a week and is willing to share them with anyone who wants one!

Sabrina ho

Sabrina is a Vietnamese-American and a junior at West Ranch High School. She hopes to inspire other Asian Americans to be proud of their heritage and let others know they are never alone. You could probably find her watching friends while drinking matcha most of the times. A fun fact is Sabrina strongly dislikes cheese and celery and never actually gets boba when going to boba places.

brenda kim

Brenda Kim is a Korean-American Senior at Valencia High School. She is an avid sunset lover and spends most of her days watching contemporary documentaries on Vox or Vice and supplementing her curiosities with Coursera courses. She’s a lover of existential conversations and a fat, cream cheese-filled bagel.

Rebecca Lee is a Chinese-American junior at West Ranch High School and is in Key Club, orchestra, and DAY! She enjoys writing and drawing in her spare time, as well as making bad jokes. She’s also a huge chemistry nerd and an advocate for happiness.

Pratika Prasad

Pratika is an Indian-American junior at West Ranch. She's heavily involved in ASB, youth civic engagement, and competitive piano. Her passions lie in working together towards a better future for young kids of color, just like her. She loves meeting new people and finding the time to have a genuine conversation with anyone!

Shreyas Venkat

Shreyas Venkat (full name unspecified) is an American Indian eccentric 11th grader attending West Ranch High School. Throughout his stay in High School, he has developed a love and passion for the Speech and Debate club, WR Aerospace engineering, and also Dive. Though off the clock he loves to study philosophy, listen to several different up and coming artists like Clairo, and cook various types of cuisine. Feel free to contact him at any time as he is very greeting and will fill you in with anything West Ranch related.

Emily Doi

Emily is a Japanese/Korean-American junior at West Ranch High School. On campus she participates in ASB, orchestra, and marching band, but off campus she likes to bake while listening to oldies music. You can go to her for questions on club fundraising, Broadway music recommendations, or pastry-making tips!

Ethan Liao

Ethan Liao is a Chinese/Filipino- American junior that attends West Ranch High school. He plays lacrosse for West Ranch and the Los Angeles Cobras as well as participates in many other clubs on campus. Ethan enjoys taking long exposure cityscape photos and learning film photography. He also enjoys watching TV shows and playing video games with friends in his free time.

Tinley Price

Tinley is a Filipino American and junior at West Ranch High School. She loves to dance and likes to bake desserts in her free time. Her favorite artists include Harry Styles, Anderson Paak, and SZA. She hopes to learn more about her and other heritages. Tinley is super excited to be a part of this chapter!

Christian Paek

Christian is a Korean American junior at West Ranch High school and a member of WRTV. In his downtime he loves watching movies and playing games with friends. Fun fact: Christian used to run a youtube channel with a few thousand subscribers. If you’re into anime, and aren’t sure what to watch next, feel free to ask him; he can probably give you a lot of recommendations!

Mia Ouyang

Mia Ouyang is a junior at West Ranch High School with a passion for writing and art. When she's not working on a new animation project, she's either asleep, trying to perfect her homemade milk tea recipe, or making a new painting for her room.

Desiree perez

Desiree (she/her) is Filipino American and a junior at West Ranch High School. She’s an English tutor involved in programs promoting Asians in civic engagement and mental health. During her free time, she’s most likely watching films or napping. Desiree is super thrilled to use her passion of writing for DAY and hopes to make a safe space for SCV’s BIPOC youth :)

carolyn cho

Carolyn is a Korean-American junior attending Valencia High School and is an active member of her school's newspaper, the Viking Vision and Valencia Unicef. During her free time, she enjoys writing songs and taking film photos. A  fun fact about Carolyn is that she loves snacking on pasta and journaling!

Ashley Kim

Ashley Is a Korean American junior at West Ranch High School. You’ll mostly find her posting on her personal blog and playing the piano during her free time. She enjoys journaling her thoughts and connecting with others. If you ask what genre of music she listens to it would definitely be acoustic and lofi!

Emily yoon

Emily is a third-generation Korean-American and a West Ranch junior. She is also A&E Editor for the West Ranch school newspaper, the Paw Print. Emily loves traveling, pasta, Little Women, and Russian trap music. She can't wait to share her writings with the Asian community and beyond!

Jonathan Chun

Jonathan Chun is a Korean American Junior at West Ranch High School. On campus, he plays for the West Ranch tennis team and stays active in various school activities. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys playing sports and watching TV shows.

Alyse Cho

Alyse Cho is a Korean-American sophomore at Valencia High School and she is one of the newest writers. She is apart of her school's newspaper, the Viking Vision, Valencia UNICEF, Eco Chicos, and VHS Speech and Debate. Alyse loves reading poetry (milk and honey!), listening to her favorite artists such as BTS, Taylor Swift, Joshua Bassett, MARINA, and Paramore, and spending time with her friends and family during her free time. She is super excited to see what the future holds and hopes to make a great addition to DAY! :)

Michaela medel

Michaela Medel is a Filipino-American and currently a sophomore at Valencia High School. She often enjoys playing the guitar, baking, as well as watching old foreign exchange student interviews on Youtube. She seems to have a growing addiction to buying fake flowers, as well as listening to beabadoobee’s Fake it Flowers album. Michaela really loves being a part of DAY’s SCV chapter, and she hopes to learn more about other cultures and her own throughout her time as a writer! :)
